Unemployment is globally regarded as a major social and economic problem. But first question that strikes to mind is whether the problem is unemployment or lack of employability?

According to a study by Higher Education Forum there are gaps that exist between the expectations of the employers and skills possessed by students.

Today the industries expect fresher's to come to the corporate world with the proper attitude. They must be committed, dedicated, self-disciplined, self-motivated, showing an aptitude and willingness to learn. To come up to these requirements Baba Farid Group of Institutions has established a full fledged Department of Training & Placement for which we have dedicated Year 2010-11 to Placements & allocated a Budget of Rs. 1 Crore.

Department of Training and Placement is an integral part of Baba Farid Group of Institutions. We have the aspiration to maximize the chances of almost each and every employer to visit our campus and hire our students. Training is a learning process that involves the acquisition of knowledge, sharpening of skills, concepts, rules, or changing of attitudes and behaviors to enhance the performance of trainees. Department of Training and Placement specifically understands the above notions to train the students on a rich platform and turns them into dynamic & groomed young professionals.

In ever increasing competitive scenario, career development is of utmost priority for any individual. After the academic and professional qualifications, there is still a lot to learn before one enters into the corporate world. We assist the students in accelerating the learning and in value addition to their personality, confidence and enthusiasm to face day to day challenges effectively. The department specializes in providing career skills to students from varied backgrounds. Department aims to enhance the employability of students by training them on various skills & knowledge that the industry requires.

Conducting trainings of students of all streams and branches under Career Development Program in which regular training workshops are being successfully run for students of the group. The unique feature of this program is Pre Assessment of every individual before starting the program which helps to understand the gap between the knowledge and skills required by the industry and those already possessed by the students.

Department is conducting an absolutely free of cost certification program in Career Development from April to July all the students of Malwa region. The objective behind this initiative is to convert this belt into a pool of professionals. Through this program department inculcates the required skills in a student whether they are from Engineering, Arts, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Management or Computers background because department believes that to get into corporate world one needs to have a gamut of skills which the department has tried to cover through this program. As an integral part department also focuses on E- Learning.
